PHOTOGRAPHER ~ STORYTELLER ~ SCIENTIST

Images communicate ideas, disregarding language barriers and both bypassing and acknowledging cultural differences. Perhaps that is why I started photography, to show others my point of view, literally sharing what I could see. I am Dutch-American and grew up in between the two cultures. After graduating with a BSc in Applied Earth Sciences from the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands, I completed the Full Time Diploma of Stage and Screen Acting at ACS in Glasgow, Scotland. Currently, I am back in Delft, working towards an MSc Environmental Science. Macro and nature photography were my first fascinations, though in recent years I’ve grown to love event, landscape, travel, and portrait styles as well. When I’m not taking pictures or studying I enjoy painting, board games, and just about anything that takes me outdoors.

“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”

DOROTHEA LANGE
“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
ANSEL ADAMS

“Taking pictures is like tiptoeing into the kitchen late at night and stealing Oreo cookies.”
